Courses to obtain Instructor Licensing

Welcome to Teaching Skills

Instructor Licensing (Teaching Skills 1, 2, and 3) offers dedicated courses for dancers who wish to become qualified teachers of the Salimpour School’s somatic belly dance method and the Salimpour Vocabulary. These courses guide you through teaching fundamentals, classroom design, lesson‑planning, and pedagogical skills — while preserving the cultural, somatic, and expressive foundation of our tradition.

Course Overview (Teaching Skills 1, 2 and 3)

  • Duration: 12 weeks each
  • Format: Weekly modules, with instructor feedback, Q&A opportunities, and practical assignments.
  • Outcomes: Optional licensing — enabling you to teach at levels approved by the Salimpour Institute, once course requirements and assessments are met.

These courses are for dancers who:

  • Have completed the required certification levels and are actively subscribed to the Library
  • Wish to teach the Salimpour method — preserving its somatic integrity, cultural roots, and movement vocabulary.
