Certification Readiness Assessment Course

How to Prepare

Before entering the Certification Readiness Assessment Course, learners intending to take the certification exam are expected to complete the following preparation through independent study in the Salimpour Library and the choreography short courses.

For those not intending to test, the course can serve as a helpful framework for understanding certification standards and obtaining guidance on the required elements.

1. Certification Prerequisites

  • Fundamentals 1 certification completed
  • Fundamentals 2 certification completed

5. Exploratory Pulse Checks (Salimpour Library)

  • Regular use of Exploratory Pulse Checks at Week 7 of the Core 2 Rotation Plans
  • Ability to independently identify what to practice based on exploratory prompts
  • See also examples of previous exam combinations, including Foundations 1.

6. Readiness Understanding

  • Core 2 rotations are the primary learning pathway for somatics and technique
  • Choreography short courses are the primary learning pathway for choreography
  • Exploratory Pulse Checks guide independent study focus areas
  • The assessment course does not function as somatic/technique instruction or choreography learning

7. What the Certification Readiness Assessment Course Is

  • A required evaluation step before being eligible to request the certification exam
  • A structured assessment with feedback of technique, choreography, and performance work already learned to determine readiness for certification standards
  • An introduction of cultural and performance content to prepare learners for future levels

8. Important Boundary

  • This course does not teach new technique or choreography for the exam
  • All evaluated somatic, technique, and choreography material comes from Library Core 2 rotation study and choreography short courses
  • Learners may repeat Core 2 rotations if not yet ready for evaluation
